Fandoms: Stop The Hate by Tulpi Fandoms: Stop The Hate by Tulpi
Star Wars vs Star Trek.
Hetalia vs Homestuck.
Twilight vs. Harry Potter

Warrior Cats, Eragon, His Dark Materials, How to Train Your Dragon, Lord of the Rings, Minecraft, Evony, Maplestory, Dragon Cave, Neopets, Pokemon, Digimon, Final Fantasy, Kuroshitsuji, My Little Pony, Batman, Death Note, Superman, X Men, Naruto, Avatar...

FANDOMS.

You can't get away from them. They are everywhere. And no matter how much you love them or hate them, they will always be there.

And not everyone likes the same things.

Get over it.

Why should there even be a 'vs' issue? Why can't people like both? Or neither? Why is it so horrible for anyone to have a different opinion? Everyone that bashes other fandoms just makes their own look like shit--which gives the other side reason to bash you, too.

If someone hates on your fandom, there is a reason. Listen to it. Savour it like a piece of bad gristle. Think long and hard about it. Have you been a good example for your beloved drug of choice? Or have you been the asshole everyone despises, ruthlessly hacking anyone who thinks differently to bits?

There is no excuse to flame someone for being different. There is no excuse to call in your friends to tell that person how horrible they are. There is no excuse to send them hate mail. There is just no excuse at all when you are being the very creature you resent. It's fine to hate the work, but not the people who love it.

Just /think</ about your behaviour for a minute.

And then, tell the other side why they're right.

That's right, you heard me.

Tell them they were right.

And then, while they're still dazed (because Confusion was EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE), tell them what you still love about yours anyway, and then ask them to share their love for theirs.

Make love, not war.

Never before have I heard such inspiring words about anything on the Internet. I'm a a part of the Lion King fandom, and I see this sort of thing all the time. Everyone feels the need to go to war about whether or not Kopa was real or, if they're not doing that, they're treating him like he's their God while acting like Kiara's the antichrist. It's sickening, really. I really like both Kopa and Kiara the same, and I've actually been attacked a few times just because of that!

This is something I can definitely relate to.

THANK YOU! I can't go two feet around here with a comment that says something like "I'm right, you're wrong; go die"... Okay, there not that blunt but you get the picture. I completely agree with you that these flame-wars are just pointless.

Personally, I say: Attack the fandom, not the fan.

Yes, but not as much as if you were to attack the fan.

I'm just saying, if you have to attack one, attack the fandom.

Why? Nobody's the same. If you do so, YOU'LL be the one who's attacked.
