Description

Trying to become independent of scanners. This is a pure digital piece and I'm still pretty lost in the realm of doing my linework with a tablet. Don't bite me >_<

Shading has now been completed.

The rider is named Si'an (said Sigh-Ahn) and the dragon is still as-of-yet, nameless.

Notes:

Si'an: Si'an is of a species called the Great Ones, beings heralding from the psychic realm or, in a sense, the astral plane. As they mature, the Great Ones gain the ability to manifest themselves into physical form in our dimension, switching back and forth between their realm and ours. Thus, ghosts in their weaker manifestations. Fully manifested, the Great Ones take on the traits of whatever is the species they interact with most.

In this case, Si'an is in his favoured form, that of a species from a low-gravity planet. This causes the native inhabitants to have less need for firm planting and allows for greater length of proportions, causing a stretch ranging from elegance to mind-blowingly lanky.

Because the Great Ones are mostly psychic beings, their bodies are more or less a halucination gone to the next level: the bodies do not exist in the same way ours do; birth, growth, maturity, waning, death; though they do exist in the sense that they can manipulate objects and communicate with physical beings. This also affects the fact that, while they do have to follow the basic laws of gravity while in material form, it affects them less strongly than creatures born on this plane: they can choose forms that would have difficulty on worlds with higher or lower gravity and it will affect them less than the species itself, they can run farther, longer, and jump higher.

They can be removed from this plane though, by use of psychic weapons or by destroying their manifest form. Their forms can be damaged simply be disbelief in their existence, destroyed by burning, drowning, etc. However, the creature itself can only be hurt by other psychic beings.

How the species mates is similar to how it eats: by cannibalizing other psychic creatures, essentially absorbing another into itself and then choosing to keep the energy or sever it off it its own likeness to form a new construct. For this reason, the species as a whole is loathe to put itself in danger of being 'eaten' and they rarely procreate.

On the dragon: The hind limbs being tiny is a flat out mistake on my part. They were supposed to be bigger, but I didn't notice until the piece was almost finished.
